FUMES

I've had problems with fumes in my 78, last night I removed the rusty non-working Diverters from the exhaust, Should I remove the tin from the exhaust manifolds or just leave it there?
 

Reply:

If you're talking about the tin on the heat exchangers, leave it there.
It directs the hot air away from the engine.
Also, plug the heater tube going into the vehicle.
And check your fuel return lines and the fuel tank vent lines.
