How do I go about filling an empty(?) brake system? - a question from Billy Knudson, and an answer from Dan Soiney

I am getting the '58 ready to leave the soon-to-be-a-memory Magic Shoppe.  I removed the locked up brake master cylinder last night, cleaned the reservoir, honed the cylinder and cleaned the plunger and interior parts.  I put it back on and hooked up the lines and opened the passenger rear bleeder valve.  I filled the bowl with brake fluid and pumped the pedal, but the bowl remained full.  I blew through it when I had it off, and pumped some fluid through it by hand.  I have replaced some of the brake lines and all of the hoses on the bus, as well as cleaned up and honed all of the wheel cylinders.  I believe the brake system to be dry.   How do I go about filling an empty(?) brake system?

The PITA way is to get 4 bleeder bottles, and 4 hoses.   Open all bleeders, connect the hoses, and have the bottles 1/4 full of new fluid.   Place the hoses so they are immersed fully in the fluid.  Now cycle the pedal slowly up and down numerous times.   This should give you a pretty good pedal. If you need to fine tune, you can do wheels individually later.
Sometimes a few days of gravity will help things out as well.  I had a motorcycle that would not bleed.  I came back to it a day later and it was fine.
